Happy 9th Anniversary!

Kevin & I spent our 9th anniversary at Dogwood Canyon, in Lampe, MO. Has it been 9 years? WOW!! Time flies when you are having fun. Dogwood is very isolated from the real world - our perfect vacation spot. We had no cell phone or internet service so we really felt disconnected - which was a GREAT thing. We stayed in a little cabin on the Canyon property so we were able to go walking whenever we wanted to. On one morning, we opted for their tram tour of the Canyon - it was amazing and takes you to parts of the property you cannot get to on foot/bike. We saw buffalo, elk, long horns, and deer. We were also lucky to see about 4 Eagles who were checking out the trout selection in the stream that runs along the whole 3.2 mile path. With a broken foot, I couldn't do a ton of walking or biking much to my own frustration . . . but Kevin spent a few hours one afternoon & walked the entire 6 1/2 miles. He LOVED it! Nature is his second home, so this was an awesome treat for him.

This is called 7 pools - b/c there are 7 small pools as you continue on. It is gorgeous & so peaceful to walk by.

Our new friend, just one of the long horns on the property.

We came upon these 2 elk fighting it out for who is the toughest.

This cutie decided to lick his chops as I was snapping the photo, cute huh?

One of our bald eagle sightings.

Beautifully serene reflection of the stream by this rock ledge.

We loved seeing all the many waterfalls on the property, they are mesmerizing to watch.

Our cozy cabin - "The Pioneer Cabin". Our neigbors in the cabin next to us were celebrating their 26th anniversary the day before ours and took this picture of us in front of our cabin. It had a great deck on the back where we could grill & I enjoyed an afternoon of solitude while Kevin was on his hike! It was a great time to relax. We are already planning for next year!

Fall Fun

The kids spent an afternoon raking leaves, jumping & playing a few weeks ago. Within 1 short week our leaves turned colors and all fell off. They were sad to see the leaves all go, but the mood quickly changed when we informed them that it meant snow was coming!

What a Deer!

It is official - Kevin got his first deer last night, and boy was it a rush. His stand is set up on our friends property close to our home. So he has gone out quite a bit in the last week & seen many deer, but last night an 8 point buck came into range and it was a perfect shot! He was so exicted!! His good buddy Jon came over and they spent 5 hours processing the meat themselves . . looks like we'll be having lots of lean, anti-biotic free meat as Kevin put it & jerky! It really is supposed to be good from what they tell me. . . I'll let you know. Most of you have probably seen the turkey from last month - this morning I found Kevin on the couch in the family room trying to decide where his deer mount was going to go!! AAAHHHH!!

Thanks Jon for helping Kevin last night! We appreciate it!

Isabelle's Art for Orphans

This is me with my creations & a picture of 2 of the girls in an orphange in Haiti.

Hi, this is Isabelle. I hope that you will help me do something for orphans in Rwanda. I want to be able to build at least 1 house in Rwanda for 8 orphans & 1 mom. God is loving to ALL of us, even the kids in Rwanda. He has asked me to do this. I hope you can do something to help me build this orphange for God's children.

I have made cards, bookmarks, & a few bracelets to sell to earn money to build orphanges. You can email me kandkredford@embarqmail.com or call me to let me know if you'd like to do what I'm doing & donate for anything I've made. Mom says to make donations to C3 Missions for a tax deduction . . . put Isabelle on the memo line & mail to me.

These are all my creations. . .

Here's some close-ups of my cards. . . some have scriptures, some have drawings, some have stickers

It's Broke

I saw my doctor yesterday for new x-rays & sure enough it is still painful because I broke my big toe. Did you know how useful your big toe is for balance, walking, standing, etc.....So I have a blue boot for the next 4 WEEKS!! Then we'll re-x-ray to see if it is healing correctly.
