Happy 9th Anniversary!

Kevin & I spent our 9th anniversary at Dogwood Canyon, in Lampe, MO. Has it been 9 years? WOW!! Time flies when you are having fun. Dogwood is very isolated from the real world - our perfect vacation spot. We had no cell phone or internet service so we really felt disconnected - which was a GREAT thing. We stayed in a little cabin on the Canyon property so we were able to go walking whenever we wanted to. On one morning, we opted for their tram tour of the Canyon - it was amazing and takes you to parts of the property you cannot get to on foot/bike. We saw buffalo, elk, long horns, and deer. We were also lucky to see about 4 Eagles who were checking out the trout selection in the stream that runs along the whole 3.2 mile path. With a broken foot, I couldn't do a ton of walking or biking much to my own frustration . . . but Kevin spent a few hours one afternoon & walked the entire 6 1/2 miles. He LOVED it! Nature is his second home, so this was an awesome treat for him.

This is called 7 pools - b/c there are 7 small pools as you continue on. It is gorgeous & so peaceful to walk by.

Our cozy cabin - "The Pioneer Cabin". Our neigbors in the cabin next to us were celebrating their 26th anniversary the day before ours and took this picture of us in front of our cabin. It had a great deck on the back where we could grill & I enjoyed an afternoon of solitude while Kevin was on his hike! It was a great time to relax. We are already planning for next year!
